Shark Tank Investors Invest the Femtech Annabella Breast Pump
The Israeli Femtech startup, Annabella breast pump, secured $8.5 million in seed funding, alongside its debut expansion into the US market. Backers of the round include Yasmin Lukatz and Oren Dobronsky, from Israel Shark Tank, with Zohar Gilon of Tamar Technology Ventures, and Menachem Weinfeld of Starry Group. The funding round included $3 million raised through a crowdfunding campaign.
Since its debut in February 2023, the Annabella breast pump sales have topped 4,000 units in Israel, primarily through Shilav retail outlets. Pricing online at $199 roughly translates to sales figures over $700,000. The breast pump is patented, FDA-cleared, and is engineered to closely mimic natural breastfeeding, delivering both efficiency and comfort.
The new funding is expected to accelerate the development of next-generation products, enable Annabella’s entry into the U.S. market. It’s also expected to facilitate collaborations with insurance providers to enhance accessibility.
The startup was founded in 2016 by husband and wife duo, Senia and Masha Waldberg, with Ron Adelman and Uri Yaffe. The startup has raised over $11 million in total funding to date.
Annabella’s mission is to enhance the lives of mothers with cutting-edge Femtech solutions. The company launched with a unique FDA-cleared breast pump that emulates a baby’s natural nursing rhythm, combined with an adjustable breast shield for optimal comfort and efficiency.
